For the Sunday, August 9th, 1998 Marriage of Gail Ann Austin and John Joseph Clare.

The Reception starts at 2:30 pm.   The wedding party should be arriving around then as well, but we're planning on having our photo session with the Park and the Lake as backdrop, so we won't be joining the reception until 3:00 or so.   We've invited approximately 150 people to our wedding and reception -- not a huge wedding, but not tiny either.

After a great deal of planning (and a little bit of anxiety), we were able to arrange for the White House Lodge at Webster Park.   (Yippie!!!)   The structure is really neat, with a large hardwood interior, and this great big porch that wraps around three quarters of the building.  The house is at the edge of a cliff that overlooks Lake Ontario.  With the shorefront, the park setting, and the pier reaching out into the Lake, we're hoping the Webster White House will make for a charming and fun reception.

The White House Lodge in Webster Park

The White House Lodge is located in Webster Park, at the Northwest corner of Lake Road and Holt Road.  There are a variety of ways to get to the Lodge, but by and far the most scenic would be to drive East on Lake Road from the end of Bay Road.  It's a winding, tree-lined path, with beautiful park settings and gorgeous homes.

Map to the Church and Reception

For those of you coming from the East of Webster Park, take the Holt Road exit, turn right (North), then take Holt Road all the way to the end.  Most everyone else will probably be driving in from South and West.  (If anyone comes from the North, they're arriving by boat.)   For the highway approach,  take 590 North to Rt. 104 East and drive less than 2 miles to the Bay Road exit.  Turn right (North) at the off-ramp and drive another 2 miles to the end, which is Lake Road.  Turn right on Lake and drive for exactly 4 more miles, where you'll find the Lodge on your left.

When approaching the White House Lodge, your first impulse will be to drive right up the Lodge driveway and park up close.  Fight that impulse!    There are two huge parking lots around the Lodge.  One is across the street, diagonally Southeast from the Lodge.   The other is just West of Lodge (left, if you're facing it.)  This is actually pretty cool, because the scenery is really wonderful here.  Just cross the bridge over a small creek (as seen here), and climb a stone stairway that takes you up the cliff and right up to the Lodge.

Obviously, this picture was taken in the Winter, but it was still a beautiful and sunny day.  Right in the middle of this picture you can make out the pier that stretches out into the Lake.   We're hoping that the Webster Park and the White House Lodge are going to make for a wonderful wedding reception.  Gail and I look forward to seeing you there!
