For the Sunday, August 9th, 1998 Marriage of Gail Ann Austin and John Joseph Clare.

For that special, once-in-a-lifetime vacation away from work and worries, Gail and I are planning something really wonderful for our Honeymoon.

For the immediate honeymoon get-a-way, we've reserved two nights at the incredible Mohonk Mountain Resort in New Palz, New York.

Then later in the week we fly off to Alaska for a one-week cruise along the Alaskan Coastline.

Come back to our web site after the honeymoon for some absolutely AMAZING pictures!  Until then, here's a taste of Mohonk...

"A mountaintop of unsurpassed beauty.  The stunning splendor of rocky cliffs rising above a crystal clear lake surrounded by lush forest.  In 1869, this scene inspired Albert and Alfred Smiley to create Mohonk Mountain House, a legendary resort that has hosted generations of guests."

Over a decade ago, during college summer break, I spent a week with my friend Brad in Poughkeepsie, NY.   On one beautiful, sunny day, he took me across the Hudson into New Palz.  We were going to spend the day "hiking at Mohonk".

To say the least, the scenery was breathtaking.  I was so taken away with Mohonk that I made a promise to myself not to return until my Honeymoon.  Well, here we are.  It's been 12 or 13 years since that day, and more than worth the wait to experience this resort with someone I love as much as Gail.

Shortly after returning from Mohonk, we'll be heading out to the airport and flying to Alaska, where a one-week Carnival Cruise is waiting for us!

This will be our first cruise, together or otherwise, and I can tell you, we're pretty excited about it!  The food, the entertainment, the service... we can't wait!

Of course, I didn't take this picture, but you can well imagine the type of scenery we'll be seeing up North!

Be sure to come back to the "wedding pages" after the honeymoon, when you'll find it redesigned to support the dozens and dozens of pictures showcased from the wedding, the reception, Mohonk, and Alaska.
