This was my very first pet, Jack, adopted in 1989. She was a wonderful, sensitive, and extremely intelligent cat, and I loved her dearly. She saved me from the lonely hell of Hornell, NY so many, many years ago. Jack was taken by feline Leukemia in 1993. I miss her still. Sure did love that cat.

Hear an authentic "Meow"

This is Torrie, adopted in 1994 from Pet Pride, in Mendon, NY. I can't exactly say I saved her because she has been properly pampered all her life. Torrie is a lap cat - any lap, at any time. If she seems a bit heavy, that's because SHE'S FAT! She's a talkative, easy-going, lazy, pampered, happy cat.

In April 1999, Gail and I embarked on a well-intentioned, although difficult task -- we adopted a second cat. One of our motivating concerns was in finding a playmate for Torrie, although it hasn't quite worked out that way. Turns out that Torrie is quite pissed off about sharing her house with this young upstart.  In the meanwhile, as she takes the time she needs to adjust, Gail and I have fallen in love with this little guy. He is wicked smart, playful, and affectionate, and we don't regret him in our lives one bit. Check out this Digital Video of Andy and I getting into a little fight.

Here's another shot of Torrie, up close and personal. She's a very playful kitty, with an incredibly accurate inner clock. She knows feeding time and snack time right to the minute! And over the last year or so, this cat has become very vocal, meowing at everything and everyone. Sometimes she really drives me nuts, but like my Dad has often said, "It's a good thing she's cute!"

The background image on this page is based on the following picture. Titled "Radioactive Cats", it's a pretty famous photograph by Sandy Skoglund, and my most favorite print.  I know it might seem strange, but there's something about it that's so very, very cool. I can't explain it.  I display this print proudly in my dining room.

This picture also has absolutely nothing to do with cats. But it, like the previous image, is my second most favorite print. It's from an artist named Michael Sowa, and it's titled "Kartoffellagerhaus" - which is German for "To the Potato Factory." Again, it has nothing to do with cats, but it's a way-cool print.

Years ago a friend of mine in college had this print of the Mona Lisa in cool sun shades and a cigarette in her mouth. It had this "Bad Mona" text splashed across it. I can't explain why I thought it was so funny, but I did, so I created my own "Bad Mona" image here:
