SUNDAY AT THE AUTO-CROSS After my friend Chuck DeRoller got his new BMW Z3 (seen here), we entered his car in the local Auto-Cross held at the MCC Parking Lot. There were over 30 beautiful cars running that day, made up mostly of Porsch and BMW, like this gorgeous 944 Turbo. Of course, Chuck wasn't new to the Auto-Cross. His wife, Dinah, has been racing her beautiful, red BMW M3 for some time. And not to be left out, I even ran my brand new 1999 Maxima SE that day. Was I scared? You bet! But did I ever have fun! Here I am leaning hard into a bend in the track. As it turned out, the Maxima and I ran really excellent times. I was pretty proud of myself. There were all types of cars racing that day, including this little Volkswagon Rabbit, who often found himself up on two wheels. The most unusual entry was this GMC Sonoma. It was an amazing sight to see this bulky truck power through the track. Of course, nothing held the corners like this full-sized Go-Cart. I imagine this guy probably had more fun than anybody. And last, here is Dinah again with her M3. She let me drive it once on the street, and I gotta say this is one incredible car!
